The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, frequently leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have risen the price of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one service is from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
