The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have actually risen the price of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one service is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
